The Charlotte Hornets have a disappointing record at 4-14 and patience is running low. With the Team coming off last year playoff run, rebranding to the Hornets and an infusion of youth such as Lance Stephenson Charlotte seemed poised to take the next step. With the Hornets struggling on defense and offense management is not sitting back and waiting for this group to gel together. MJ is a very competitive person and sometimes patience can run thin when you are losing. That’s why Zach Lowe of Grantland is reporting the Hornets are aggressively shopping players:
“The Hornets have been aggressive making trade calls, according to sources across the league. The Hornets are searching for upgrades on the wing and at power forward, per those sources, and they are willing to talk turkey on basically anyone other than Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson.”
Since Lance Stephenson signed over the summer the Hornets can not trade Him until December 15. Stephenson was not part of the protected assets so one would only assume he is trade bait.
With the Hornets being so aggressive on the trade market management either see glaring problems that need fixing now and are being proactive, or MJ and company (mostly MJ) have grown impatient and weary.
