Is it finally happening? Could it be? Is The Amazing Spider-Man franchise saved? Not really, but the good news is, Sony and Marvel came close to some resolution on the Spider-Man front.
After the huge Sony hack of last week thousands of pages of documents including contracts, actor’s contact info and more was leaked out to the public. Some of the more riveting leaks comes in the form of Spider-Man to Marvel news and the chance to include Spider-Man’s arc into Captain America: Civil War. Spider-Man plays a pivotal role in the Civil War arc in the comics, and it’s truly upsetting that he’s not going to be featured.
According to reports by the Wall Street Journal plans of bringing Spidy into the MCU have fallen through and show no signs as of now of happening. But here’s some good news, Sony is working on bringing Sam Raimi back as either director or producer for any or all of the slew of proposed Spider-Man movies, which includes the Venom spin-off and even a female version.
As of now, the next move for Spider-Man on the big screen could be an animated comedy…yes.
