Cleveland Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert, whom is also the owner of Quicken Loans, made Yahoo remove a post on it’s sports blog because he simply didn’t like it.
The editor of Yahoo’s NBA Sports Blog “Ball Don’t Lie,” Kelly Dwyer, posted a joke inside a post about Zydrunas Ilgauskas Jersey Retirement Ceremony. That led to Gilbert’s personal call to Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer.
This time she noted that Gilbert and Yahoo joined forces last year to bring the Billion Dollar “Scheme” Bracket for the NCAA Tournament. Dwyer posted inside the article “Predatory Lender Quicken Loans Arena” which brought forth another call to the CEO of Yahoo and Dwyer erased the post less than 24hrs after it was published.
When it comes to marketing $$$ the old saying rings true, you will not bite that hand that feeds you, and Gilbert made that known.
