We knew Kam Chancellor was questionable for Super Bowl XLIX, and now knowing the severity of his injury combined with his high level of play — makes his performance even more amazing.
Chancellor had a bad collision in practice earlier in the week and was close to being doubtful for the ballgame.
The Seahawks are now reporting that Chancellor played the Super Bowl with a torn MCL. Seahawks officials released this statement:
“There are some people that get injured and can’t even play this game, can’t even play a game,” Chancellor said. “So you’ve got to be grateful for how you’re feeling at the moment. Shoot, my injury happened two days before the game and they told me I wasn’t going to be able to play. They told me, ‘Torn MCL and bone bruise.’ I was mad. I was frustrated. But at the end of the day, I was able to play.”
Chancellor explained how he managed to surive.
how did Chancellor do what he did once the game started?
“To tell you the truth, I do it from my faith,” he said. “My faith is strong and testaments like this, moments like this, make my faith stronger. I believed He was going to heal me up to play in the game, to finish the game. And that’s what happened. So my faith just becomes stronger. And then I do it for my teammates.”
