Maxwell informed his former agent Jason Chayut today that he plans to hire a new agent. NFLPA regulations restricts Maxwell from hiring a new agent until five days after firing his old one which make the timing of his agent change odd. Teams are allowed to begin negotiations with players on Friday and Maxwell maybe starting out behind the eight ball seeing that he is without an agent until Sunday.
The Seahawks have most of their money tied up in their secondary. With Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson expecting contract extensions soon, Maxwell is likely to sign elsewhere. The early word is that Alvin Keels is favorited to be Maxwell’s new agent.
