After DeMarco Murray left the Dallas Cowboys to sign with division rival Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas found themselves with a giant whole in their back field. Dallas decided to sign 7-year veteran Darren McFadden as part of the solution. McFadden was the 4th overall pick in the 2008 draft but has not really live up to they hype.
McFadden’s career has been slowed down by a rash of injuries. He has only had one season of 1,000 rushing yards or more and played in all 16-games for the first time in his career last season.
“I just want to go out there and continue to show people what I can do. I still don’t think the world has seen the best of Darren McFadden”
McFadden is expected to share the back field with running backs Joseph Randle, Ryan Williams and Lance Dunbar. The Cowboys have been linked to drafting one of the top two running backs in the draft, if they fall to them, as well as ongoing rumors that Adrian Peterson could end up in Dallas.
No matter who carries the ball, the Cowboys have spent the last three years building their offensive line and if McFadden can stay healthy and get a nice work load, he could produce his second 1,000 yard season and prove that we haven’t seen the best of him.
