Well, I didn’t even know it was possible for people to ride bikes down snow-covered mountains at almost 140 miles per hour, but, THE MORE YA KNOW!
Bleacher Report brings us the story of 54-year-old Frenchman, Eric Barone. Barone recently took to Vars (a portion of the French Alps) to break his own previously set mountain bike speed record of 138.08 mph.
On an ice-covered track, beginning at an altitude of 2,700 meters; watch as Barone beats his previous time in this harrowing video showing the entire feat:
Barone tops out at 138.75 mph, which was good enough to set a new record. I’m not sure how many people are jumping at the chance to top that, but judging from the fact that the record he broke is his own; I’d be willing to bet not many.
