After the spanking Portland endured last night in Memphis, their off-season may be coming sooner than they would like. The Grizzlies dominated from the opening tip, leading by 29 at one point.
While Portland is hopeful to stay away from this as long as possible, at some point they must address LaMarcus Aldridge in free agency. There’s no question he will be one of the most coveted players on the market.
Up until this point, most believed Aldridge was a lock to stay in Portland, but some of his teammates aren’t so sure.
“Some Blazers players have already said they are worried free agency will take Aldridge away from Portland this summer,” writes Quick. “Earlier this month, before a home game, a Blazers player estimated the chances of him returning to Portland at 50-50.”
If Aldridge were to leave, you can never count out the possibility of him going home to Texas. The Rockets and Mavs are always active and if Tim Duncan were to retire after this season, they would surely be looking for his replacement.
