The obsession is one thing — the Buccaneers need Jameis Winston to understand and translate that playbook into results on the field.
Winston, according to his teammate, rookie wide receiver Kenny Bell, is currently obsessing over the Buccaneers’ offensive playbook to the point where he sometimes goes to bed late, because he wants to absorb so much knowledge.
Speaking with WDAE-AM 620 on Tuesday — Bell elaborated more on that obsession.
“He’s the best roommate I’ve ever had, one of the best teammates I’ve ever had,” Bell said. “It’s been phenomenal. We’ve been going from about 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and then we get back to the hotel and he wants to study more … He’s dedicated to his job, that’s for sure.”
Winston’s intelligence has never been questioned, but that knowledge of the offense must translate to plays made on the field.
