If you are going to rob someone, don’t do it while looking like Sheamus from WWE.
Secondly, please be careful when you are doing these sneaker deals online, make sure you are doing the exchange in a very public place.
Best place to meet is by a police station or a police substation.
Thick red hair and a red beard is not the best look for a man planning a robbery. At least it wasn’t for 19-year-old Edward Ramos who police say they were able to arrest for robbing teens of a pair of sneakers thanks to his “unique” description.
Three victims, a 19-year-old and 17-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl, called police on Tuesday night around 9:15 p.m. to report they’d been robbed after setting up a sale of sneakers on Facebook.
The three went to 12 Lawnfair St. to meet with a man named “Eddy,” who the 19-year-old had made arrangements to meet at that address for the exchange, according to police.
When the teens arrived at the home, they were told no one inside was looking to purchase sneakers. As they went to leave, they met Eddy standing by their car, police said.
Eddy said he wanted to look at the sneakers, but then a black male, dressed in all black clothes, approached the group with a gun and demanded the sneakers. The armed suspect grabbed the sneakers and ran off toward Deerfield Street.
Officers responding to the scene recognized the teen’s descriptions of “Eddy” as matching Ramos, a man known to him, police said.
Cops went to Ramos house and figured out he set up the robbery. He is currently under arrest.
