UFC President Dana White saw what we all saw last night, sheer dominance. Ronda Rousey made naohter world class fighter look mediocre and everyone once again wanted to see her in the cage against Invicta champion Cris Cyborg. Well Dana was quick to let UFC fans know that he’s ready to put those two in the octagon together.
“The Cyborg thing is complicated, because, I’m ready for Cyborg, Ronda’s ready for Cyborg, but Cyborg has to make the weight,” said White. “If you see tonight, if you look around, and you see that Ronda is here in Brazil, with a sold-out crowd, the place was cheering for her, which I’ve never seen in Brazil, ever, Brazil only cheers Brazilians, and they’re cheering for Ronda, I’d be cutting weight now and chomping at the bit to fight Ronda if I was Cyborg. That fight is ready to roll whenever Cyborg is ready.”
Cyborg would have to make 135 lbs once in December, probably the night before Ronda’s fight, and then pass all of her drug test. That would set up a huge Rousey vs Cyborg fight at UFC 200.
Ronda isn’t confident that Cyborg can drop down a weight class without using PEDs:
“I fight in the UFC 135-pound division,” said Rousey. “She can fight 145 pumped full of steroids, and she can make weight just like everybody else without ‘em.”
Cyborg is Ronda’s last true hurdle and both sides need to do everything in their power to make this fight happen before it’s too late.
