When sports figures get diagnosed with cancer, it’s as if we all feel it in a sense. We want that person to have a speedy recovery and truly beat this thing. Red Sox manager John Farrell has announced that he has lymphoma cancer. In addition, as he fought back tears, he is also stepping away from the game he loves the most to fight this thing.

Ferrell is expected to be replaced by Torey Lovullo for the remainder of the season. We wish the Red Sox skipper much luck in this battle against cancer.
