Things got really ugly and out hand between two Mississippi junior colleges.
The defending junior college national champions East Mississippi Community College was up 48-0 against Mississippi Delta in the first half, when a huge brawl broke out.

The fight got so out of hand that the game had to be called before halftime. A reporter covering the game gave some interesting play by play of the entire debacle.
Trash cans being thrown, players running wildly all over the field … This has gone on for five minutes

From a personal standpoint … Kudos to the Delta linebacker who threw a garbage can 20 yards in the air … Easily enough for a first down

Law enforcement, game officials, both ADs and both head coaches at midfield

Here is the most interesting development of the entire situation.
EMCC’s Buddy Stephens “it all started in the pregame with one of our managers getting five stitches (from an attack by a Delta player)”

This entire situation is a black eye for both programs, and not only will players be suspended, but some probably face even worse punishment than that.
It is going to be interesting to see the amount of fallout from this entire situation with EMCC heading into the postseason and to see if there are any ramifications for next year.
Hopefully nobody involved in the fight was seriously hurt.
