Last year there were rumors that former Texas head coach Mack Brown was interested in coaching at SMU, and now it seems he could have some interest in the recently vacated South Carolina job.
Brown was on with Finebaum, and when asked about the job he did anything but deny he had interest in possibly coaching the Gamecocks.
"I'd love to talk to them & see if the fire is still there, but I haven't had that call yet" – Mack Brown on the South Carolina coaching job

Personally, I don’t think that is a great fit for South Carolina or Mack. I think the direction South Carolina needs to go in is a young, hungry coach who knows how to work with less. Memphis head coach Justin Fuente comes to mind immediately and he wouldn’t have to move too far to get there.
I think Mack is in a good position at ESPN, and ultimately I don’t think he will be going anywhere.
