No one really likes the Patriots outside of their fans. Who would like a team that consistently wins, has the league’s best QB and coach, and a TE who parties all the time and is still productive on the field? It’s a recipe for hate. Many fans and players may dislike a team that seems to win no matter what, and next up to talk about their disdain for the Patriots is Giants WR, Odell Beckham, Jr.
Now, Beckham is like a lot of us, “Why won’t the Patriots stop winning?” and it can get a little frustrating, especially when they beat all the teams you like.
“I’ve loved-hated the Patriots for a long time,” Beckham said to reporters Thursday, per Newsday. “I respect everything that they’ve done and everything they do year in and year out as far as being one of the top teams in the league. They get the job done, they win championships. But on the other end, they’ve beaten all the teams that I like.”
“You hate them because nobody was really beating them and you love them because no matter what they go through, even what they’ve gone through this year [with DeflateGate] to see how they’ve come out, they play football,” Beckham said. “There’s something about it I admire. But it’s still one of my least-favorite favorite teams of all time.”
To many fans and players, that might be the frustrating part, the Patriots win no matter what they are up against. They don’t talk about much outside of football and they have built a culture of winning. It’s understandable for a player to dislike them if you’re on the opposing team, but I’m sure any player would love to be a part.
