We’re used to hearing some complaints from ‘Melo, just as we are with any superstar; but are you ready to hear him pat himself on the back some more? Even with the current season he’s having?
While Anthony shoots a career worst from the field (40.6%), he felt it was only right if he took some time to explain to reporters exactly whats been happening out there on the court – as he see’s it.
I always get fouled. That’s what’s frustrating me. You play so hard, work so hard and don’t benefit from that. You look at other guys — you touch them and look at them wrong and get fouls. It’s a frustrating thing for me as a guy who likes to go to the basket, play in the paint. I like to play physical. It’s frustrating.
[Referees] just tell me I’m the most difficult player to referee in the NBA. I’ve heard that a couple of times. … It’s unclear on who is creating the contact. My goal is to go to the basket. If I’m creating the contact going toward the basket [and] I get hit, it’s a foul.
Claiming you’re the most difficult player to referee in the NBA is an incredible compliment to lend to oneself, but is he really correct in saying it?
You could definitely make an argument for ‘Melo. But is LeBron, or even someone like Russel Westbrook, more un-ref-able?
He raises an interesting question, even if the answer may not be as simple as he believes it is. Who do you think the most difficult player to ref in the NBA is?
