Kanye’s new album The Life of Pablo has stirred up controversy with his lyrics about Taylor Swift, but she is not the only celebrity mentioned. The man known for contributing to the creation of the Kardashian empire, Ray J, is mentioned in the following lyrics excerpt:
“Me and Ray J would probably be friends if we wasn’t in love with the same bitch … you might have hit it first, but I’m rich, though.”
Apparently, Kanye talked this over with Ray J before releasing the album and says that the lyrics are all in fun and means no disrespect. According to inflexwetrust.com, sources from Ray J’s camp said the Ray J is happy that Kanye contacted him before releasing the album and he is cool with him. He also wanted to make it clear that he is rich as well and has a TV show coming out soon.
With Kanye adding lyrics about Taylor Swift and Ray J into his new album, it seems that he is attempting to achieve some level of catharsis by incorporating people who are tied to stressful events in his life. For what it’s worth, this level of personalization have people talking and writing articles about his new release.
