Kanye West continues to redefine the way artists and their fans interact. According to Rolling Stone West has made major updates to his latest album, ‘The Life of Pablo.’ West’s TLOP has been called everything from an unfinished mix tape to the first SaaS album. As always he is pushing conventional boundaries, this time by letting fans into his creative process. The album is still only available through the artist co-owned streaming service, Tidal. Although, recent reports say Yeezy will release TLOP everywhere this Friday.
West makes edits to 12 songs on the LP, mostly on the mixes. For an artist, after all the vocals are laid down for a track, the mixing and editing process is where their vision comes to life. The gospel infused opener “Ultra Light Beam” features new lyrics from Chance the Rapper and gospel star Kirk Franklin; “Feedback” has a new beat; and the Weeknd’s chorus on “FML” now has supporting vocals.
Having the ability to hear TLOP go through various iterations is a real treat for Kanye fans.
