Despite playing collegiate basketball at Pittsburgh and being a proud alum, Sean Miller has elected to remain the head coach in Tucson.

In the wake of long-time head coach Jamie Dixon bolting for his alma mater at TCU, athletic director Scott Barnes was looking for an immediate homerun hire, but the search must continue for now.
“We want to connect in every way we can with our recruits, with our fan base, and play a fun style,” Barnes said. “What does that mean? Probably a little more up-tempo. Want to always get it done on the defensive end, but a little more free-flowing.”
Is Miller making a mistake not going to his alma mater like Dixon?
Of course not.
Although Miller has failed to get Arizona in the final four, he’s led them to three elite eights and what’s even more impressive has been his ability to take over the recruiting scene on the west coast.
With UCLA being irrelevant in kids eyes nowadays, Miller has been able snatch top California guys such as Derrick Williams, Solomon Hill, Brandon Ashley, Gabe York, Aaron Gordon, Stanley Johnson and etc.
If Miller left for Pittsburgh, sure he would get some recruits, but the competition on the east coast would’ve been a lot more challenging.
Yes, it would’ve been cool to see Miller go home and embrace the challenge, but as long as UCLA stays down, he has it made on the west coast.
