Josh Gordon will have his pick of NFL teams, once the Browns cut ties with him, but it still remains to be seen if the suspended Browns star can give up marijuana or at least, not fail the test.
Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report is reporting that after having conversations with a few team executives — Gordon is likely to have pursuers, because he’s not a woman beater.
Over the past few days, in speaking with sources in eight NFL front offices, I’ve seen a clear picture of Gordon’s future emerge. Despite failing multiple drug tests — despite apparently thinking the NFL’s drug policies are voluntary — Gordon still garners a great deal of interest.
What seems certain after my discussions with these officials is that Gordon will have a home if he gives up marijuana. He will, in fact, have his choice of homes should the Browns not want him.
I agree because Gordon does have a problem, but it’s not a violence issue, nor should the issue at hand, be worthy of a suspension.
During his breakout 2013 campaign, Gordon finished with 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns, but has only played in five games since.
