It pays in Hollywood to look like big screen star Shia LaBeouf but in the streets of New York City, resembling the Transformers star is enough to get you assaulted just ask Mario Licato. According to US Weekly, Licato was in route to a Lower East Side show when a man pulled up on him, punched him and knocked him to the ground. As he drifted in an out of consciousness he heard the man say,
“This is because you look exactly like Shia LaBeouf!”
Confused and disoriented, Licato was helped by eyewitnesses, who confirmed that the attacker did in fact say he struck because Licato resembled LaBeouf before fleeing the scene and boarding a train. Police responded to the call and listed in the witness statement the LaBeouf remark.
At the current time the attacker had not been apprehended. Licato says he’s been stopped many times over the years for resembling LaBeouf but this was his first attack.
