Does Doug Baldwin know something we don’t?
While Marshawn Lynch has been in riding camels and building orphanages, the Seahawks have been busy preparing for the 2016 season. They drafted a new crop of players in and one Seattle receiver was ready to welcome them with open arms- on one condition.
Dear @PeteCarroll,
We are thrilled with the new teammates. One condition. Nobody wears #24 for years to come.Sincerely,
The Players— Doug Baldwin Jr (@DougBaldwinJr) April 30, 2016
What Baldwin most likely means is that out of respect, nobody should don the #24 Seahawks jersey. But it could be interpreted as a subtle hint that the running back isn’t actually retired and that they should leave the number open just in case. When asked about it Seahawks GM John Schneider was vague:
Any chance Marshawn Lynch plays in 2016? John Schneider: "He's riding camels and stuff right now." #Seahawks

Lynch tweeted that he was retiring a few months ago, but has yet to file the proper paperwork with the NFL, making him still active and on the Seahawks roster with a cap hit of $11.5 million.
Stay tuned…
