Florida continues making headlines this week as guilt and desperation made a Broward Sheriff’s office employee take his own life rather than face the consequences for his actions.
WSVN 7 News in Miami is reporting that Sgt. Kreg Costa, a senior official currently facing 29 counts child pornography and molestation charges, died Wednesday night as a result of an apparent suicide attempt. According to the report Costa bonded himself out of jail, returned to his home in Sunrise, placed a call to 911 and shot himself after ending the call.
A married father of five children, Costa was accused of viewing child porn on his work computer and using social media to target teenagers. Upon his release on bond, the judge in the case ordered him to stay away from minors, including his own children, without supervision.
Costa is said to have left notes behind at the scene thus causing the coroner’s office to rule the death a suicide.
