The GOAT return man isn’t done just yet.
In July, the Atlanta Falcons released Hester, as he was battling a toe injury. However, Hester has several teams interested in him but he couldn’t name them, according to TMZ.
“I can’t say much now, but I’m getting close,” Hester says. “(I) got 14 teams waiting on me.”
With Hester turning 34 this fall, how much does he really have left in the tank?
That’s yet to be seen, but in his last healthy season, Hester totaled 1,128 kick return yards in 2014, which is the second highest of his career (1,436 in 2013).
Having said that, let’s take a look at five teams that need him.
New England Patriots
Whether you hate ’em or love ’em, we all know New England will be right in the mix of things once again.
Nonetheless, their return game could use a boost.
Last season, New England finished 30th in kick return yardage and 31st in yards per kick return.
Also, doesn’t it seem like Bill Belichick and company are always capable of making something work?
Hester would be a great fit here.
