LSU star RB Leonard Fournette is in a tough spot.
Although Fournette is probably big & strong enough to make millions at the NFL level, he’s stuck playing for free in college with everyday bringing a new risk for him to lose everything before he’s even in a position to get it.
With reports of Fournette being seen in a walking boot after spraining his ankle during a scrimmage Tuesday, come the reminders that everyday he’s at LSU is another day he’s essentially playing Russian roulette with his future.
Nick Wright guest-hosted Colin Cowherd’s show Tuesday, and his thoughts on the subject were RIGHT on point:

Fournette should take as long as he possibly can returning from this latest injury, if for nothing else, to keep his body in tip-top shape for next year’s NFL draft.
Sure, he’s a Heisman frontrunner and one of the best backs in the nation, but with millions of NFL dollars so close he can touch them, he’d be wise to forgo the accolades and keep his eyes on the prize.
Would Fournette taking himself off the field be selfish? Sure it would be, but since when is being selfish in football anything new?
Hey, SOMEONE has to protect the financial futures of these guys. Do you really trust the NCAA to do it?
