Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey was ejected from Sunday’s loss to the Raiders for fighting with the Raiders Johnny Holton. Despite the ejection and not being on the field to help his team, Ramsey says he would behave the same way in a similar situation. In a quote picked up by Hays Carlton of the Florida Times-Union:
They don’t want me to say this but I would do it again. I won’t be disrespected.
The young corner has had lots to say this season. He got into it with NFL veteran Steve Smith, had a locker room rant during a media scrum and now the ejection for fighting. It appears as though he has a bit of a confrontation streak in him, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
However, saying he would fight again if he’s disrespected is problematic. As a man you have to stand up for yourself. But, fighting means automatic ejection and you can’t willfully do things to hurt your team. Plus, now that teams know that’s his stance, they will be gunning for him. Stay tuned.
