Original reports had Keion Carpenter who played with the Bills and Falcons had passed away at the age of 39.
New reports from the family say that he is indeed still alive.
While reports of his death are believed to be untrue as of this writing, a family member says former Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons safety Keion Carpenter has fallen into a coma.
News of Carpenter’s death began circulating Wednesday night. However, the Daily Press is reporting that the 39-year-old is still alive.
Creating further confusion on the matter was a statement released on behalf of former Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer mourning the death of Carpenter, whom he coached in college.
According to the Daily Press, the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson reported that Carpenter collapsed while running in Florida. Further details on his condition are currently unavailable.
Until someone from the family confirms his death, it would be wise not to speculate.
Just send your thoughts and prayers.
