Snakes are pretty smart.
The handler is lucky he didn’t eat him alive.
The Ocala Police Department said they received a call at 11:56 p.m. about a cobra that had escaped a home located on Northeast Fifth Street.
The yellow monocled cobra was in a sealed, secure room in the home, the Ocala Star Banner reported.
An apprentice seeking to get his license to handle poisonous/venomous reptiles and snakes was at the home of the cobra owner while the owner was at work.
The apprentice did not see the cobra in its cage, so he got a shield and lifted the top off the cage.
The cobra jumped at the man and then slid away.
As long as the snake isn’t bothering me, I am not going to snitch to the cops, be free in the swamp somewhere.
