The car that authorities had alleged Aaron Hernandez used to pull off a double murder back in 2012 has been pulled from eBay.
The 2006 Toyota 4Runner had fetched bids in excess of $100,000 before the seller says eBay took the auction down without explanation. According to the listing, Fox Toyota in East Providence, RI had leased the vehicle to Hernandez at the beginning of his NFL career in exchange for autographs and appearances.
The car was being held at a Boston Police Department impound lot until the conclusion of the trial in which Hernandez was found not guilty.
The listing read:
This is the REAL DEAL. This is the 4-runner Boston Police had been searching for in connection with a shooting outside a Boston nightclub.
The Toyota is just the way it came back from the impound yard, and still has the black soot on the map lights, and sunroof switch where the police dusted for finger prints. Nows your chance to own this infamous piece of famous football memorabilia.
Talk about insensitive. With Hernandez’s acquittal and suicide, the families of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado are still left without closure.
