Jacksonville Jaguars Owner Shad Khan is the first NFL owner to publicly state that he would be willing to sign embattled free agent Quarterback Colin Kaepernick. In an interview with 1010XL radio host Mike Dempsey, Khan was asked if he would be okay with signing Kaepernick if the Jaguars coaching staff it. Khan’s answer? “Absolutely.”
This begs the question: If Khan approves of the signing of Colin Kaepernick, then why haven’t the Jaguars reached out to him? They are obviously a team with a desperate need for quarterback talent. Blake Bortles can’t seem to hit the side of a barn with a football and apparently has lost the confidence of his teammates. Wide receiver Allen Robinson yelled “F**cking keep that sh*t in bounds bro!” to Bortles after a horrendous pass that sailed out-of-bounds during practice last week.
Tonight, the Jaguars will be starting Chad Henne, a 32-year-old proven loser with more career interceptions than touchdown passes tonight as they take on the Carolina Panthers. There is a quarterback controversy brewing in Jacksonville between two of the NFL’s worst quarterbacks.
Now that Khan has publicly expressed his approval for signing Kaepernick, will the Jaguars pick up the phone and call Colin to come in and compete for their quarterback job? I’ll believe it when it happens.
