The Pittsburgh Steelers & Le’Veon Bell showdown continued on Friday. Bell is looking for a long term deal and to become the highest paid running back in the league. The Steelers have other plans and used the franchise tag on Bell for this season. As a result he has been holding out. NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala tweeted that Bell arrived at the Steelers facility today, but his stay was short. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler tweeted out about half an hour later that Bell was leaving the facility, chucking the deuce sign on his way out.
There wasn’t a whole lot of time for any serious conversations, so it is unclear if Bell signed the franchise tender, if he made any demands, or if he just wanted to say hello. The season begins in the next several days. We’ll see how long this stalemate lasts.
