Michigan State University running back LJ Scott was arrested for driving on a suspended license on Wednesday. This is the seventh time that Scott has been charged with a similar offense.
The 21-year-old Scott was later released on a personal recognizance bond per Lansing State Journal, and this was also confirmed by East Lansing Police spokesman Lt. Chad Connelley on Thursday.
If convicted, Scott could face up to a year in jail, due to at least one prior conviction on the same charge, which is typically a 93-day misdemeanor. Scott or his attorney, James Heos couldn’t be reached for comments.
The junior running back who is from Hubbard, Ohio, has been charged with driving without a license or on a suspended license at least six other times in Ohio and Michigan since last year.
