There is some good news coming in from injured Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier. Shazier injured his spinal cord during a game on December 4th, 2017 and reportedly lost feeling in his legs. Now according to WPXI in Pittsburgh, Shazier has regained feeling in his legs.
Ryan Shazier can now feel his legs. He’s been watching the games from a suite at Heinz Field, cheering his teammates on.
“He’s making progress daily,” Vernon Shazier said. “He’s a long ways from the night when he was laying on the field.”
Channel 11 asked, “Is he walking? Have you seen your son walking?”
“We agreed to keep his progress private until he’s ready to share where he is at,” Vernon Shazier said.
Shazier underwent spinal stabilization surgery a few days after the injury in Pittsburgh and has been recovering with the support of his family, teammates, and Steelers community. Hopefully, this is the first step towards a full recovery for Shazier.
