Alabama has been the standard of excellence in college football for roughly a decade. Fresh off it’s 5th national title in the Nick Saban era, the Crimson Tide are upgrading their lavish facilities to keep the edge.
According to several experts, the Crimson Tide had a down year on the recruiting trail compared to classes from years past. Alabama’s board of trustees has now approved a proposal for a $2 million recruiting lounge. Here are the specifics on the new facilities according to the Tuscaloosa News.
The recruiting lounge will be in 7,447-square-feet of renovated space on the first and second floors of the Mal Moore Athletic Facility. The lounge will primarily be used for football recruiting.
The work will include upgrading finishes, enhancing audio/visual systems, new lighting, and new graphics and furniture. The preliminary budget is $2 million. The project will be funded with Crimson Tide Foundation funds. Davis Architects of Birmingham will design the renovation.
I’m all for upgrading and staying ahead, but can the players who put their bodies on the line on Saturday’s get a piece of the pie as well?
