Russell Westbrook Records 100th Triple Double Against the Hawks (Video)

Thunder guard Russell Westbrook became just the 4th player to record 100 triple doubles for his career. Today versus the Atlanta Hawks, Westbrook recorded 32 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. He now joins Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and Jason Kidd as the only other players to achieve the milestone. The next closest active player is Lebron James with 68 triple doubles for his career.

A good chunk of Westbrook’s triple doubles came after the departure of Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors. Since his departure, he has led the Thunder to a 50 win season, playoff berth, as well as averaging a triple double for the regular season en route to winning the MVP award. Oscar Robertson was the last player to average a triple double in 1962. The Thunder are 15-5 when Westbrook records a triple double and face the Clippers on Friday night.
