Kostas Antetokounmpo, the younger brother of Giannis, says he will test the NBA waters, and threw his name in the hat for the 2018 NBA draft.
Kostas is a redshirt freshman at the University of Dayton.
Kostas was in-and-out of the starting line-up this year at UD, and only played about 20 minutes per game, averaging 5 points and 3 rebounds.
Kostas did score a season-high 14 against George Washington earlier this month and shot 6 of 7 from the floor. So while it’s a very small sample size, Kostas has shown some flashes.
The best thing going for Kostas right now is his size. Just like Giannis, Kostas is a solid 6’10,” 200 lbs. Plus, we are all well aware of what a young Antetokounmpo has the potential to morph into now that Giannis is having his best statistical season since he entered the league.
Kostas would be the third Antetokounmpo to make it to the big stage. The oldest Antetokounmpo brother, Thanasis, 25, played for the Knicks in 2016, and is currently back home, playing in Greece.
Kostas will not be requesting a transfer from UD if he ultimately decides he does not want to go pro.
