New details are emerging regarding the fatal car crash that took the life of Chris Berman’s wife Katherine Ann and a man on May 9, 2017. Police are now saying that she had a blood alcohol level that is three times the legal limit in Connecticut. She would end up rear-ending the man and that’s when both died at the scene, according to The Hartford Courant.
The victim was idntified as 87-year-old Edward Bertulis. It was also stated in the police report that Berman did not hit her brakes prior to the crash. No charges were filed due to both Berman and Bertulis passing away.
Berman was driving 82mph in a 45mph road. Bertulis was going 30mph. The toxicology tests confirmed that Berman’s blood alochol level was .26. Connecticut’s legal limit is .08. Substances were also found in her such as oxycodone and anti-depressants.
A Woodbury, CT bar is also having a lawsuit on their hands as the Bertulis family is saying that they’re the ones who gave Berman the drinks.
