It’s almost that time of the year where nerds, fanatics, husbands, wives, athletes and homebodies unite to play the great game of Fantasy Football!
Us here at BSO are like kids on Christmas Eve, I’m winning the league this year BTW, so we’ve decided to share our Fantasy Football knowledge with our readers. Over the next few weeks we will be giving you our best sleepers, the most overrated players and our picks for most impactful rookies.
Let’s start with the 5 best sleepers at the QB position:
1. Tyrod Taylor – Buffalo Bills
Taylor showed his duel threat ability in the Bills’ first preseason game nd that performance was enough to give him a shot at the starting spot in the 2nd preseason game. That’s not the reason Tyrod is a great sleeper though, it’s because he has very little miles on his body. He’s been a career back up in Baltimore and showed glimpses of the skills he had at Virginia Tech when called upon. With athletes such as Lesean McCoy, Percy Harvin and Sammy Watkins at his disposal, Taylor could be the biggest steal in this year’s draft.
2. Jameis Winston Tampa Bay Bucs
Similar to our reasoning with Taylor, Jameis Winston has greta weapons to throw to in Tampa Bay. Mike Evans and Vicnent Jackson will give Jameis great targets to throw to on the outside and if Doug Martin can return to his rookie form it’ll provide Winston with a dangerous play-action game. Winston had 131 yards in one half of football in his preseason debut, so a few 300 yard games this season aren’t far-fetched.
3. Teddy Bridgewater – Minnesota Vikings
Teddy Bridgewater is my early pick for most improved QB this season. He showed that he had great decision making and comppsure in his rookie year and now he adds a few gifted athletes around him. A healthy Kyle Rudolph, the return fo Adrian Peterson and addition of Mike Wallace (which allows Cordarelle Patterson to move to the slot) will take Bridgewater to the next level. He’s a must have back up QB this season.
4. Sam Bradford – Philadelphia Eagles
If healthy Sam Bradford could be a Top 5 fantasy QB in Chip Kelly’s system, key phrase “if healthy.” Chip Kelly has made serviceable QBs out of many midling arms and Bradford has the talent ot thrive in that offense, not to mention the best running back trio (Murray, Sproles & Matthews). If you happen to miss out on the “elite” QBs taking a flier on Bradford may be the way to go. #InChipWeTrust
5. Johnny Manziel – Cleveland Browns
Last and certainly most intirguing is Johnny Manziel. He won’t be the starter in Game 1 but he’s shown maturity and playmaking so far this training camp and his talent should eventually bump Josh McCown out of the starting spot. Very few rookies light up the league their rookie year and Manziel could’ve just needed some time to grow into a professional. His skills and athleticism are still top notch and he could be the QB you stash on your bench and ride to a championship later in teh season.
