Johny Hendricks is less than a week removed from his UFC welterweight title victory over Robbie Lawler and news of a torn bicep is likely to put his title reign on hold.
The injury was reportedly suffered before the fight against Lawler and Hendricks fought through it instead of pulling out of the fight.
MMA analyst Ariel Helwani was first to tweet the news:
If the injury only leaves Hendricks out for 2 months then it’s not too detrimental to his future as champ, but in a division that is so close at the top an injury like this can leave Hendricks vulnerable in his next few fights.
