UFC Heavy hitter MArk Hunt is scheduled to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champ Junior Dos Santos at next weekend’s UFC 160, it’d be the largest fight of Hunt’s career. One thing is holding that up though, Hunt isn’t yet in the United States because of troubles with his work Visa in Australia.
According to MMAjunkie.com sources, Hunt was stuck in Australia and working with a UFC immigration lawyer to sort out the mess.
Hunt said this about the issue:
“It’s a stupid misunderstanding” “something that happened a long time ago.”
That statement has led many to believe that the issue stems from a past legal issue.
UFC Director of Communications Dave Sholler doesn’t seemed to be that concerned:
“As you know, Mark has experienced a visa issue that we are working through at the moment.”
“To put anything to rest, we are confident that the issue will be resolved, and we anticipate Mark competing in the co-main event of UFC 160.”
“Out team is working through the issue and we anticipate Mark making his way to the U.S. this weekend.”
With a victory Mark Hunt would set himself up for a shot at the UFC Heavyweight title in the fall, so this “small” issue should be of the upmost importance to everyone in Hunt’s camp.
