The cops are being real stupid and making themselves look like idiots with these boycott plans.
Thankfully, at least one police chief isn’t going to deal with the foolishness.
Metro Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson, in a statement issued Friday afternoon, said that police will staff the concert and that public safety requires the police department to staff major events in Nashville.
“The public safety/public service mission of the police department must rise above anyone’s personal views concerning a performer,” Anderson said.
He said a routine special events staffing notice was sent out Friday for Beyoncé’s concert and that the traffic plan for Nissan Stadium and the surrounding area requires about approximately 88 officers. Officers interested in working the assignment have until the close of business on April 15 to respond.
