Ex New England Patriots TE and current inmate Aaron Hernandez is being sued for wrongful death by the family of Odin Lloyd, the man he is accused of killing. According to the The Fall-River Herald-News they aren’t just suing for wrongful death but want to stop the Patriots from pay him too:
Lloyd’s estate is also asking a judge for a restraining order that would prohibit the New England Patriots from paying out more than three million dollars that Hernandez, 24, is believed to be owed from his contract.
Hernandez did plead not guilty and is in jail awaiting trial. I’m not lawyer but doesn’t a family typically sue after a guilty verdict?
