No one will ever question how great of a cornerback Champ Bailey, but for this one play he looked like “DeAngelo Hall”.
Hines Ward definitely got the best of this exchange. Speaking of Hines this would be a good time to clear up some misconceptions about my reporting of him over the years. Ward was voted the dirtiest player in the league by his peers and I have stated many times that I believe Ward at times likes to take unnecessary shots. With that being said I don’t think he is dirty or intentionally wants to hurt anyone.
I think Ward gets a pass on a lot of things because he has the “media” on his side. He has done some of the same things that other players have done (hold out, mock celebrations & etc) and no one seems to call him out on it. I believe in being unbiased so you have to be consistent in your reporting. My beef was never with Hines, but with the people showing a double standard towards him.
That has never change the fact that he has been a hell of a ballplayer since he has came into the league and deserves his named mentioned with the likes of Stallworth and Swann. Who wouldn’t want someone like Hines Ward on their team? He is the ultimate making the most out of his talents. Whereas more physically gifted wide receivers like Roy Williams fail to meet expectations Ward continues to exceed them.
