The NFL Draft is this Thursday, meaning it is time for the annual BSO NFL Mock Draft. Be sure to get your NFL Tickets to check it out; the draft in prime time if you are in the NYC. I would not put too much stock in these picks, but I am pretty confident in my first ten picks – after that it’s a crap shoot. ESPN will have blowout coverage of the event and Mel Kiper’s-hair-that-has-nothing-on-President-Hassan’s-hair-from-“24” will be in attendance as well.
1- Saint Louis Rams: Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma
The Rams have passed up on potential franchise quarterbacks in the last few drafts. I really thought they blew it with Mark Sanchez last year. Bradford has the greatest “potential” to be a franchise quarterback and that is why I believe he will be drafted.
2- Detroit Lions: Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska
The Lions drafted their franchise QB last year in Matt Stafford and have been adding parts ever since. Most people feel that Suh is the best player in the draft, so they have to be happy he falls to them at #2.
3- Tampa Bay Bucs: Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma
There are plenty of people who think McCoy is better than Suh – and the Bucs are trying to get back to being a dominant defense, this is an easy pick.
4- Washington Redskins: Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State
I really think they should take Eric Berry because their safeties were atrocious last year, but their offensive line wasn’t much better and Okung’s the best OT in the draft. No point in trading for McNabb if you can’t protect him.
5- Kansas City Chiefs: Trent Williams OT Oklahoma
Once again – they probably should take Eric Berry, but there aren’t a lot of elite OTs in the draft so I believe the Chiefs take Williams.
6- Seattle Seahawks: CJ Spiller RB Clemson
It seemed like Spiller was at Clemson for like 12 years, but to me he is by far the most electric player in the draft and can instantly upgrade any offense he’s implemented in.
7- Cleveland Browns: Eric Berry S Tennessee
Berry reminds me of Ed Reed, but a better tackler.
8- Oakland Raiders: Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State
Jamarcus Russell shrugged at this pick, but Bryant is a 10x better receiver than Darius Heyward-Bey, who the Raiders blew a pick on last year.
9- Buffalo Bills: Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame
I can’t shake this feeling that Clausen will be better than Bradford. I just can’t.
10- Jacksonville Jaguars: Jason Pierre-Paul DE South Florida
Premier pass rusher in the draft, in my opinion.
11- Denver Broncos: Dan Williams DT Tennessee
12- Miami Dolphins: Joe Haden CB Florida
13- San Francisco 49ers: Brandon Graham LB Michigan
14- Seattle Seahawks: Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa
15- New York Giants: Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech
16- Tennessee Titans: Rolando McClain ILB Alabama
17- San Francisco 49ers: Anthony Davis OT Rutgers
18- Pittsburgh Steelers: Earl Thomas S Texas
19- Atlanta Falcons: Mike Iupati G Idaho
20- Houston Texas: Kareem Jackson CB Alabama
21- Cincinnati Bengals: Taylor Mays S USC
22- New England Patriots: Jermaine Gresham TE Alabama
23- Green Bay Packers: Charles Brown OT USC
24- Philadelphia Eagles: Carlos Dunlap DE Florida
25- Baltimore Ravens: Terrence Cody DT Alabama
26- Arizona Cardinals: Rodger Safford OT Indiana
27- Dallas Cowboys: Arrelious Been WR Illinois
28- San Diego Chargers: Jahvid Best RB California
29- New York Jets: Sean Weatherspoon LB Missouri
30- Minnesota Vikings: Brandon Spikes LB Florida
31- Indianapolis Colts: Maurkice Pouncey C Florida
32- New Orleans Saints: Nate Allen S South Florida
I know a lot of people will be wondering where Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy will end up.
I have Colt McCoy going to the Panthers at pick #48 and Tim Tebow going to Chiefs at Pick #50
