My theory is that Jerry Jones will never hire a big name coach again. The reason is simple, Jerry Jones is the real coach of the Cowboys and if he hired someone of any note they would want more control.
Jason Garrett is a “company man”, someone who is just happy to have a head coaching job and will let Jerry Jones do whatever it is he wants with no push back.
Garrett did a decent job after Wade Phillips left the building, in my mind he isn’t the right person for the job. For the Cowboys to succeed Jones would need a coach who is powerful enough to tell him to mind his business. There will be a lot of pressure on Garrett next year to win immediately and I just don’t see it happening.
