Long story short, it appears Mr. Kurney likes to get his Whitney Houston on from time to time. Because he is the father of Bears Defensive End Julius Peppers, it is a story, but really it isn’t.
It would be a different if Mr. Kurney was trafficking coke like Tony Montana would be more interesting.
The father of Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers has lost his law enforcement job after being charged in North Carolina with felony possession of cocaine.
The State Bureau of Investigation said Thursday that 50-year-old George Thomas Kurney was arrested following a joint state-local investigation.
Nash County Sheriff’s Lt. Pat Joyner said Kurney was dismissed from his sheriff’s deputy job after his arrest Wednesday. Kurney was taken to the Wilson County jail shortly after 11 p.m. and released about an hour later on $1,000 bond.
I don’t think losing his deputy job will hurt too much.
Lesson to be learned here, is if you want to do coke do it in your house.
