The unconfirmed and not sourced rumor comes from TigerHoods.com here is what they had to say.
Miami Heat Basketball star, Lebron James is rumored to be taking an Olympic banned substance, Propranolol. Propranolo is a beta blocker used for Stage Fright, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks.
The reason behind Lebron taking the medication could stem from a long line of issues. His inability to play in “clutch” games or quarters would probably be the most noticeable. Inderal or Propranolol is used to treat high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, heart disease, pheochromocytoma (tumor on a small gland near the kidneys), and certain types of tremor.
Couple of things, if this is a joke, it is in poor taste. You never joke about someone’s health. Make fun of Lebron’s hairline, his jeggins or whatever, but when you are talking about a serious drug that is banned in the Olympics that is taking it too far.
If it isn’t a joke, you need to have a little more credence to your claim. Who did you hear from? What makes their information credible? How did you come across this information?
As independent sites we have a little more freedom to report rumors, but don’t abuse that freedom by just throwing out serious accusations without much backing behind it. I understand the use of confidential sources, but there are times you have to give a little more background.
For the record Propranolol is not banned in the NBA, so even if Lebron was taking it, it isn’t illegal. Furthermore the people who are on Propranolol have serious medical conditions and it isn’t anything to make fun of not something.
Just be aware anything that you write at some point you may have to be able to back up, so be prepared if it comes to that.
