After a 5-19 record in two years, the University of Kansas announced today that they have fired football head coach Turner Gill.
The Jayhawks finished this year 2-10 after being beat down by rival Missouri 24-10 on Saturday. Gill still has three years and $6 million left on his contract after this season.
Gill was hired to replace Mark Mangino in December 2009 after going 5-7 in his last year as head coach at the University of Buffalo. His legacy at Kansas will forever be the infamous “no girls after 10 p.m. rule he implemented with his players upon his arrival. I’m sure the Jayhawks players aren’t exactly mourning Gill’s exit today.
