Ryan Leaf Arrested on Drug and Burglary Charges in Montana

Yesterday, we reported on former Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Charles Rogers having an arrest warrant issued related to some traffic stops. The article stated that he may be the biggest bust in NFL History. Looks like he isn’t even the biggest bust at #2 overall.

It seems Ryan Leaf heard that news and decided that he wasn’t going to just sit around and allow somebody else to be the biggest bust in NFL Draft history. He was was arrested on Friday afternoon in his hometown of Great Falls, Montana for criminal possession of dangerous drugs, felony burglary, and misdemeanor theft.

Details from the GreatFallsTribune.com

Ex-NFL quarterback and Great Falls native Ryan Leaf was arrested on burglary, theft and drug charges, according to officials at the Cascade County Detention Center.

Detention center staff said Leaf had already posted a $76,000 bond as of this evening.

Leaf was arrested at about 12:35 p.m., according to Great Falls Police Sgt. Dean Bennett.

Bennett said that an abbreviated police log of the arrest states Leaf was arrested at the Probation and Parole Office at 219 5th St. S.
