There is a big problem in Orlando.
Dwight Howard supersedes the coach and GM. He has a direct line to the CEO and Owner of the Franchise. When you have that you take all the power away from the GM and coach.
As Stan Van Gundy has pointed out Dwight has been trying to get him fired for awhile and even had his replacements lined up.
“Multiple sources close to Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard told Bright House Sports Network’s David Baumann that prior to the season, Howard indicated that he preferred the Magic would have hired Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw or Golden State Warriors assistant coach Michael Malone to replace current Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy.
Curious what happens when the year is over.
Dwight Howard still has all the leverage, so eventually Stan Van Gundy will get fired, but what coach will want to come in and then see Dwight Howard leave? Also you know Dwight is a coach killer, so how do you coach someone who might stab you in the back.
Will be an interesting summer.
